I've installed the drivers, but get no cursor. What did I do wrong?

If you are using a serial port, it could be as simple as not having the switch under the mouse in the right position. The switch under the mouse needs to be in the PC position when using our driver as a 3-button mouse. Try restarting the computer with the switch in the PC position.
If that does not work, then it may be that you were configured for the "Standard" version of the Windows 95 mouse driver before installing the Contour drivers. Click here for instructions on re-configuring the system.

I loaded version 2.02 of the software and programmed the buttons, but each time I load Windows the buttons don't seem to work. I have to run the Contour Control Panel and they start working.

You are missing a line in your WIN.INI file. Edit the WIN.INI file, look in the [windows] section. There is a line that starts out "load=". There may be things referenced after the = sign. One of the references needs to be: C:\CMOUSE\PCCMAIN.EXE. Just add that part after the = sign and the settings will load each time you go into Windows.

I loaded version 2.02 of the software and restarted Windows. I get a message "The file 'C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\GRID.VBX' is out of date. This program requires a newer version".. Or a similar message about PROCHOOK.DLL.

These two files are common files for programs that use Visual Basic. The solution is to copy our version of the file(s) to the \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. The files are located in the \CMOUSE directory. We recommend copying the original files to a temporary directory before replacing them, just in case...
