Meter acquires Packet Pushers

We believe in the power of the internet. We’ve acquired Packet Pushers to invest in the best content and community for the people who keep it running.

For the better part of two decades, Ethan, Greg, and team have set the standard for practitioner-led networking content: 14 active shows, thousands of episodes, blogs, newsletters, a Slack community, and more. Packet Pushers is the outlet where network engineers go to learn from each other.

We want to support what Packet Pushers already does well and give them the opportunity to grow without depending on sponsorships. Ethan and team will continue to run their own programming, choose their own guests and topics, and make their own editorial judgments. They can criticize Meter and cover any vendor or competitor. That independence is the foundation of the trust they’ve built with the networking community, and it’s something we explicitly protected as part of this agreement.

Our goal is for Packet Pushers to remain the home of great networking content and community for years to come, and to reach the many network engineers who haven’t found it yet.

For what this acquisition means for Packet Pushers, you can read Ethan’s perspective here.
