Nine new hardware platforms built by Meter
Nine new hardware platforms
Today at MeterUp 2025, we unveiled a complete redesign of our hardware stack: nine new platforms, designed and developed in less than a year, spanning access points, switches, firewalls, and gateways. In early 2026, the new hardware will begin rolling out to customers as part of their monthly service.
Each device reflects thousands of deliberate choices: where ports are located, how air moves through them, how the fan turns on, how power is efficiently managed. Together, they form a cohesive hardware system designed to perform better, last longer, and integrate seamlessly into Meter’s singular network stack.
This is all in service of customer outcomes. We’re eliminating the fragmented experience that defines legacy networking, where customers are required to piece together equipment and spend the majority of their time on configuration issues. It also benefits Meter to design and build the hardware in tandem, leveraging shared architectures and components to ensure speed, reliability, and performance across the entire stack.
Here’s a deeper dive into the nine new hardware platforms.
F-Series
Meter Firewalls now offer higher throughput with built-in high availability. They are virtually noiseless and built to last.
F1. Ultra-high performance firewall designed for sites that need higher throughput without sacrificing acoustics or efficiency.
- 50+ Gbps stateful firewall throughput
- 13+ Gbps IDS/IPS
- 4× SFP56 (50Gbps) uplinks
- 4× SFP (1Gbps)
- 4× 2.5GbE, including a dedicated PoE+ port for the G1 5G Gateway
- Sub-20 dBA acoustic performance
F2. Leverages the same architecture as F1; built for standard deployments, without sacrificing security or reliability.
- 20+ Gbps stateful firewall throughput
- 13+ Gbps IDS/IPS
- 4× SFP+ (10Gbps)
- 4× SFP (1Gbps)
- 4× 2.5GbE, with dedicated PoE+ for G1
- Sub-20 dBA at normal operation
F3. The first dual-in-one chassis firewall with built-in high availability (HA), reducing installation complexity and time. Ideal for smaller or space-constrained spaces.
- Dual 20 Gbps stateful firewall throughput
- Dual 13+ Gbps IDS/IPS
- Dual 4× SFP+ (10Gbps)
- Dual 4× SFP (1Gbps)
- Dual 3× 2.5GbE, including dedicated PoE+ ports for G1
- Sub-20 dBA at normal operation
S-Series
Meter Switches ensure predictable performance across dense sites as they are multi-gig by default.
S1. Designed to power efficient Wi-Fi 7 deployments.
- 24× 2.5GbE
- PoE++ across all ports, with 720 W total budget (up to 60 W/port)
- 6× SFP28 (25Gbps) uplinks
- Sub-20 dBA at normal operation
S2. Doubles port density and virtually silent.
- 48× 2.5GbE
- 6× SFP28 (25Gbps)
- Sub-20 dBA at normal operation
S3. Core Switch. A compact, powerful, silent switch for everyday operations.
- 6× SFP28 (25Gbps)
- 6× SFP+ (10Gbps)
- Silent at normal operation
A-Series
Meter Access Points now offer Wi-Fi 7 with extremely high throughput thanks to custom circuitry that enables strict isolation between 5 GHz and 6 GHz radios.
A1. Premium access point for high-demand indoor environments.
- 2×2 Tri-Band (2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz)
- 120dB of 5GHz/6GHz rejection
- 2.5Gbps throughput
A2. Designed specifically for hospitality sites, this access point offers the same performance with simpler installation.
- 2×2 Tri-Band (2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz)
- 120dB of 5GHz/6GHz rejection
- 4× 1GbE, 1× PoE out
G-Series
Meter Gateway enables out of band management for the entire stack. Bring a site online quickly and get redundant failover WAN connectivity. Able to operate in harsh, rugged environments.
G1.
- Over 1.2Gbps throughput
- 2× 2.5GbE PoE Ports
- Internal antennas
- Multiple SIM options
- Waterproof/IP67 for outdoor environments
Hardware is a craft of ours. It’s where the human touch meets engineering precision. When you see the new Meter devices, know they represent countless hours of intent, testing, and care. That’s how we’re reimagining enterprise networking: through hardware that’s built to be reliable, secure, and scalable. Every choice is in service to the thousands of Meter networks our customers rely on every day. With Meter, they can focus on outcomes, not endless SKUs and configurations.
