Meter acquires WiredScore, the global standard for digital connectivity in real estate

SAN FRANCISCO and LONDON (March 25, 2026)Meter, a leading provider of internet infrastructure for the enterprise, today announced its acquisition of WiredScore, the global certification for digital connectivity and smart technology in real estate.

The acquisition marks a significant step in Meter's next phase of growth, supporting its ambition to ensure every business has access to fast, secure, and reliable internet.

Founded in 2013, WiredScore has become the global benchmark for connectivity and smart building certification, working with more than 1,000 landlords and developers across 42 countries and certifying more than 1 billion square feet of real estate worldwide. WiredScore's ratings have become the benchmark that landlords, brokers, and tenants use to evaluate a building's digital infrastructure.

Meter provides internet infrastructure for enterprises and commercial buildings. Its unified networking solution embeds connectivity directly into buildings, ensuring tenants have high-performance infrastructure from day one. As demand for resilient digital infrastructure grows, building owners increasingly treat connectivity as a core building differentiator. Landlords of buildings with best-in-class connectivity command rent premiums of up to 7%.

By bringing together Meter's internet infrastructure platform and WiredScore's globally recognized standards, the acquisition helps Meter support landlords and occupiers at scale while accelerating the international adoption of best practices in digital building performance.

"Digital infrastructure is now as fundamental to a building's value as its physical construction. WiredScore has spent over a decade defining what great looks like in this space. Bringing their standards, relationships, and global reach together with our infrastructure gives us the platform to scale connectivity in real estate worldwide."

WiredScore and SmartScore certifications will continue to be global, independent standards for technology in real estate. Occupiers, independent industry experts, and forward-thinking landlords across global markets will continue to shape these standards.

William Newton added: "We are excited to formalize how WiredScore creates its standards through the formation of a governance council comprising active members of WiredScore's already flourishing network of advisors. This approach enables us to continue shaping the future of technology in real estate with our most important industry partners by our side."

The acquisition also marks Meter's expansion into Europe, including a new London office, and brings direct access to WiredScore's network of landlords and developers across the UK and globally.

Together, Meter and WiredScore will define and deliver the standard for connectivity in buildings worldwide.
