The internet runs the world.
We’re rebuilding its infrastructure.
We’re looking for people who are kind and ambitious.
Our bet with Meter is simple: we’ll all use the internet more than we do today.
That future depends on networking infrastructure—the invisible plumbing powering every application, space, and data center. But today’s infrastructure is dated and inconsistent, so we’re rebuilding it from the ground up.
Open roles
We design the hardware, write the firmware, build the software, deploy the networks, and run support.
It’s a single, integrated networking solution that scales from offices, warehouses, and large campuses to data centers—and today, it’s powering some of the world’s most ambitious organizations.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for kind and ambitious people who want to do the best work of their career. The work we do across hardware, software, and operations is hard and long-term oriented. We’re looking for colleagues who:
View fast-paced and changing environments as an opportunity—not a bug—and find the agency to move things forward.
Have a proclivity to not just learn, but also teach—those with an innate drive to help others and enable them to succeed.
Show deep thoughtfulness in their writing and thinking.
Always assume good faith and communicate with a deep sense of empathy.
In-office culture
Our space in San Francisco combines our office, warehouse, and QA lab. As a vertically integrated business, it’s invaluable for employees to work from the same space where our products are developed, tested and shipped to customers.
With the majority of our team based in the Bay Area, we’re committed to working together in person, and we invest in the experience.
Benefits
We hold a high bar at Meter, and in return, we take care of our team and their families. Our benefits support an ambitious culture: from in-office meals to thoughtful health benefits and time off that enables real rest.
We invest in what helps people do their best work.
Interviewing at Meter
Our interview process is designed to find exceptional people, gain a shared understanding of one another, and bring them to Meter to do the most ambitious work of their career. We’re always happy to provide more details at any point in your hiring process.
Gaining clarity and conviction
The goal of your first meeting with a Meter hiring manager is two-fold: understand your skills, ambition, and how you work; and introduce you to Meter, sharing insight into how we operate and what we’re building.
Writing is central to how we operate
To gain an informed view of your writing, we’ll ask you to share a writing sample that we’re not the first to read, and to complete a take-home exercise. Our take-homes are designed to reflect the tone and tenor of how we operate, as well as the difficulty of the problems we’re tackling.
Connecting with references early
We like to speak with references throughout your hiring process, and we’ll ask to initiate these conversations early. References allow us to understand how we’d work together and whether this is the right role at the right time.
Onsite interviews
In addition to meeting with Meter’s founders and the hiring manager, you might meet with 1-2 additional colleagues who will provide perspective on our work and team.
Open roles
If you don't believe your experience matches any of our current openings, but you’re still interested in building with us, we encourage you to reach out at jobs@meter.com.
